Ingredients
  

For the Crust
  • 1.5 cups 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 0.5 cups ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.25 cups ¼ cup sugar
For the Cheesecake Filling
  • 16 oz 16 oz cream cheese, softened Use room temperature for best results.
  • 0.75 cups ¾ cup sugar
  • 0.5 cups ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 large 2 large eggs Use room temperature.
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups 2 cups peeled and diced apples (preferably Granny Smith)
For the Topping
  • 0.5 cups ½ cup caramel sauce (halal-friendly)
  • Additional diced apples for garnish (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Mix until the crumbs are evenly moist. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish to form a solid crust.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar together until smooth. Gradually add the sour cream, eggs, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon, mixing until well combined.
  4. Carefully fold in the diced apples, making sure they’re evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  5. Pour the cheesecake filling over the prepared crust, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Bake the bars in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the center is set and a bit jiggly.
  2. Once done, remove the bars from the oven and let them cool completely in the baking dish.
Finishing Touches
  1. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the top of the cooled cheesecake bars. If desired, sprinkle more diced apples on top for added visual appeal.
  2. Cover the dish and place the bars in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Once chilled, cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for the best texture. Allow the bars to chill properly for enhanced flavors.
