- Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- Prepare the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center, then add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix and knead: Gradually incorporate the flour into the wet ingredients until a dough begins to form. Knead for about 5 to 7 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise: Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven: While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Prepare the crust: Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Roll it out on a floured surface to fit your pie dish (about 12 inches).
- Assemble your pizza pie: Transfer the rolled dough to a greased pie dish. Spread pizza sauce on top, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese. Add your veggies and halal meats on top, then sprinkle with oregano and garlic powder.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Serve: Let the pizza pie cool for a few minutes, garnish with fresh basil, slice, and serve hot!
