Method
Cooking the Pasta
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions, salting the water for enhanced flavor. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking.
Preparing the Protein
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground turkey or chicken until browned and no longer pink, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat and stir in the ranch seasoning mix. Allow it to cool slightly.
Mixing Ingredients
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, seasoned meat, black beans, corn, cherry tomatoes, bell pepper, and shredded cheese.
Adding the Dressing
- Pour the ranch dressing over the pasta mixture and gently stir until all ingredients are coated evenly. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
Chilling and Serving
- Cover the salad with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Toss again before serving and add optional toppings if desired.
Notes
This salad can be made a day in advance. Pasta may absorb dressing over time, so consider adding more before serving. For a lighter option, mix Greek yogurt with ranch dressing.
