- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 premade pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- Ground nutmeg for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the pie crust: If using a premade crust, place it in a pie dish. If making homemade, roll it out to fit the pie dish and crimp the edges.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and salt until well blended.
- Gradually add the milk to the egg mixture while whisking to create a smooth mixture.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie crust, filling it almost to the top.
- Sprinkle a little ground nutmeg on top.
- Place the pie in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the center is set.
- Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely before serving.
Notes
Ensure the pie cools completely for proper setting. You can enhance flavors with citrus zest if desired.
