Ingredients

- 2 cups water
- 2–3 chai tea bags (or 2 tablespoons loose chai)
- 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Dash of cinnamon
- Dash of nutmeg
- 3 medium-sized apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup rolled oats
- ½ cup flour (or gluten-free flour)
- ½ cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for apple crisp topping)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup melted coconut oil or butter
Instructions
- Boil the water in a small saucepan.
- Remove from heat, add chai tea bags, and let steep for 5-7 minutes.
- Remove tea bags, stir in milk and honey or maple syrup.
- Add dash of cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel, core, and slice apples into thin wedges, toss with cinnamon.
- In a bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Mix melted coconut oil or butter into the oat mixture until crumbly.
- In an oven-safe dish, layer the apple mixture, then cover with oat topping.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until topping is golden and apples are tender.
- Pour chai over baked apple crisp or serve separately. Enjoy!
