Description

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup melted semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • ¼ cup whole milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream together the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring in the vanilla extract after the last egg until well combined.
  5. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients along with the melted semi-sweet chocolate chips until just mixed.
  6. Blend the creamy peanut butter with powdered sugar and swirl it into the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  8. Cool the cake for about 10 minutes before transferring it to wire racks; frost once completely cooled.
