- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup melted semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
- ¼ cup whole milk (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, stirring in the vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually fold in the dry ingredients along with the melted chocolate chips until just mixed.
- In a small bowl, blend the peanut butter with powdered sugar; then swirl this mixture into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Cool for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks; frost once cooled.
Notes
For added flavor, serve warm with vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
