Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (halal)
  • 8 ounces egg noodles or rice noodles
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup bell peppers (sliced, any color)
  • 1 cup carrots (julienned or shredded)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (halal)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside, tossing with a drizzle of oil to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Add the chopped onions and garlic, stirring for about 2 minutes until the onions are translucent. Then, add the bell peppers and carrots, cooking until just tender.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, sesame oil, and black pepper. Pour over the beef and vegetables.
  5. Add the cooked noodles to the mixture, tossing everything until evenly mixed and heated through.
  6. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
