- 8 ounces egg noodles or rice noodles
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup bell peppers (sliced, any color)
- 1 cup carrots (julienned or shredded)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (halal)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside, tossing with a drizzle of oil to prevent sticking.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
- Add the chopped onions and garlic, stirring for about 2 minutes until the onions are translucent. Then, add the bell peppers and carrots, cooking until just tender.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, sesame oil, and black pepper. Pour over the beef and vegetables.
- Add the cooked noodles to the mixture, tossing everything until evenly mixed and heated through.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
