- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
- 1 cup colorful candy (like M&Ms or Skittles) for the “cauldron” filling
- Edible glitter or Halloween-themed sprinkles (optional, for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, blending until the dough forms. Do not over-mix!
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed in the dough.
- Using a tablespoon, scoop out the dough and roll it into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
- Press down gently in the center of each cookie ball to create a small indentation for the candy.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and fill the center of each cookie with colorful candy while still warm.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Optionally, sprinkle with edible glitter or Halloween-themed sprinkles before serving.
