Description

Magical Cauldron Cookies are whimsical Halloween-themed treats that resemble mini cauldrons filled with colorful candies, perfect for kids and festive celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1 cup colorful candy (like M&Ms or Skittles) for the “cauldron” filling
  • Edible glitter or Halloween-themed sprinkles (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, blending until the dough forms. Do not over-mix!
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed in the dough.
  7. Using a tablespoon, scoop out the dough and roll it into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
  8. Press down gently in the center of each cookie ball to create a small indentation for the candy.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Remove from the oven and fill the center of each cookie with colorful candy while still warm.
  11. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Optionally, sprinkle with edible glitter or Halloween-themed sprinkles before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing and texture. Customize your candies based on personal preference.
