Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked and shredded halal chicken
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
  • 2 cups chicken broth (halal)
  • 1 cup green chiles (canned or fresh, diced)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (such as cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions or cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Gather all ingredients and prepare cooked chicken if necessary.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add shredded chicken and seasonings, then sauté for 5-7 minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine cooked rice, sautéed chicken, green chiles, sour cream, and half of the shredded cheese.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading evenly.
  6. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
