Description
A visually appealing and nutritious festive appetizer shaped like a wreath, packed with vibrant flavors and healthy toppings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (15 oz) of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh herbs (such as parsley and dill) for garnish
- Pomegranate seeds or cranberries for decoration
- Sliced cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, and carrot sticks for serving
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a little water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
- Transfer the hummus mixture to a large platter. Use a spatula to spread the hummus into a circular shape, creating a wreath-like appearance.
- Use the fresh herbs, pomegranate seeds, cranberries, and sliced vegetables to decorate your wreath. Place the herbs as ‘garlands,’ surround the wreath with pomegranate seeds, and use colorful veggies for a festive touch.
- Finish by drizzling a bit more olive oil over the top of the wreath.
- Serve with an array of veggie sticks, pita chips, or crackers around the hummus wreath for easy dipping.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor and presentation. Customize the toppings to suit your taste.
