Description

A quick and flavorful blackened salmon recipe infused with Cajun seasoning, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your skillet: Place a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until it’s smoking hot.
  2. Prepare the salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  3. Season generously: Rub both sides of the salmon fillets with olive oil, then coat with Cajun seasoning.
  4. Sear the salmon: Place the seasoned fillets in the hot skillet and cook undisturbed for about 4 minutes. Flip the fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until fully cooked.
  5. Let them rest: Remove the salmon from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before serving with lemon wedges.

Notes

If desired, substitute olive oil with a zero-calorie cooking spray for a lighter option.
